Principal investigator of the Ethical Choice Education Lab, Dr. Adam Feltz, received special recognition from OU’s Vice President for Research and Partnerships office on being part of the team on the NSF-funded project “Tuning Catalyst Design to Recycle Mixed Polymer Streams”.
This cross-department collaboration aims to establish a cost-effective way to recycle multilayer plastics which are not currently recyclable within Norman and many other parts of the United States. While the chemical engineers of OU are working on selectively separating polymer layers, Dr. Adam Feltz and graduate student Jenna Holt are working on public acceptance side of this project. Their first order of business is establishing a robust measure of objective plastic recycling knowledge. Later, they plan to create an education intervention to inform the public on multilayer plastics.
